(http://www.nslu2-linux.org). I first tested the usb soundcard on my desktop. This didn't work at first, but after updating everything it worked. Then I plugged it into my linksys nas. When I use the alsa-oss module to playback a file it works ok, but if I try to use alsa natively it doesn't work. When I run aplay /some.wav I get the message I previously posted. I think it's pretty weird that it works using oss emulation to alsa, but native alsa playback is not working. I'm not sure if this is an alsa problem or more a compatibility problem or a architecture vs soundcard problem. But that's what I'm trying to figure out now.
