Hi:
I have a new Gateway Desktop that has an intel motherboard with an
integrated Realtek ALC880 sound card. I followed Realtek links and
downloaded
"realtek-linux-audiopack-3.5-6b.tar.bz2". I had Slackware Linux 10.2
installed with the 2.4.31 kernel. In the attached file are 3 files.
The first are the messages applicable to sound at boot indicating that
I can not load the modules. The 2nd file gives the error messages from
the "insmod snd-hda-intel" command. The 3rd is a copy of my
modules.conf copied from the package and installed.
I followed all of the installation instructions and got no error
messages from configure, make, make install, etc programs.
It appears as though I am missing some file because of the unresolved
symbols.
Is there a solution to my problem with the software that I have? Do I
have the right software? If not please recommend a tar.gz package for
me to download and I will try again.

PS: I forgot to add the the driver is alsa-driver-1.0.9b_26 with
alsa-lib-1.0.9 and alsa-utils-1.0.9.
