Hello All, ehm, not sure if it is any help
but regarding all the plugin formats and there might be more who follow i'm wondering if there is anything like a networked Jack / ALSA 'something' that enables to make Synth / DSP / Recording 'nodes' and automaticly deals with latency just like FM-MAX Teleport VST plugin http://www.fx-max.com/fxt/ but then a few levels deeper / closer to the kernel so that there is just an 'overall host' for audio connections that interconnects several LAN boxes into one studio then heavy soft synths can be hosted on 'external' boxes and also 'trouble plugins' there are plugins that cause heavy hangups and housing them outside the 'main workstation' will prevent loosing a masterpeice... I don't know if Uniwire is GPL but that's also something like this, (It's VST plugin to connect to their Muse-receptor synth server) http://www.museresearch.com/uniwire.php I just think it would be nicer to have this on a deeper level closer to the kernel If i'm talking crap then just delete and forget i ever mentioned it probably 1000's of people had this though before me..
