I scanned the list archives and saw posts on this chip for version 1.0.11 that can adjust volume. I have an HP Pavilion with that chipset running Gentoo 2.6.16 and I see just MASTER & PCM control sliders (aside from CAPTURE). I do get sound, but with the sliders all the way to 100% I get distortion but the over all volume is rather low (equivilant to maybe a 40% from my dual booted WinXP load using WinAMP)
Is this chipset still in progress for Alsa? Or should I be seeing more controls (such as the amp?)
