If directly updating the kernel tree with a newer alsa-kernel, should /usr/include/sound also be updated with the newer alsa-kernel/include files?
If compiling alsa-driver seperate from the kernel, what is the proper way to handle the kernel's core/ directory since alsa installs in acore/? And finally, what should be done, if anything, with the kernel's soundcore.ko module? The kernel installs this but alsa does not. Not sure how depmod and this module fits in with an updated alsa-driver. -- _______________________________________________ Check out the latest SMS services @ http://www.linuxmail.org This allows you to send and receive SMS through your mailbox.
