I think that your problem can be resolved by any recent distribution.
If you read the archives of this mailing list there are people who used
alsa with more and more devices than you..
Which distro have you tried?

Thank you, but I was asking for a recommendation, of known working
combination of software and hardware, rather than assistance debugging
what I have, that may never work.
