Hi Jason. This probably ain't gonna be much help. I have Slackware 10.0, and
was only able to get Alsa working with Luke Yelavich's mm kernel. This was
obtainable from http://www.audioslack.com . Unfortunately Luke has not been
able to continue working on audio apps for Slackware.

Anyway. Kernel-2.4.31-Audioslack shows
in /lib/modules/2.4.31-Audioslack/kernel/sound all the Alsa modules. It also
shows in /lib/modules/2.4.31-Audioslack/kernel/drivers/sound the OSS
modules. The vanilla kernel 2.4.26 which came with Slackware 10.0, just has
OSS drivers in /lib/modules/2.4.26/kernel/drivers/sound.

I can't even offer to send you the mm kernel for Slackware 10.0, as it seems
I've done a Slapt-get clean, and lost the downloaded files.

Slackware surely by now must be supporting Alsa. It may be worth posting to
http://www.linuxquestions.org , and the Slackware forum, to see if someone
has any suggestions.

Sorry if this is a bit of a downer. Nigel.
