i have Creative Labs SB Live! EMU10k1 (rev 08) with the digital i/o card that has an optical input and an optical output. mplayer can send the ac3 dolby digital stream out the optical to my surround sound system. if i connect a dvd player to the optical input, how can i pass the ac3 or surround sound from the optical input to the optical output. i tried the settings in alsamixer but all i could get was the left and right sent through.
