Hello,

I recently started using my sb extigy as my default output device. The
first time I tried, mplayer would resample everything to 48 khz, but
after a reboot 44.1 khz seems to work fine. As far as i can tell, sound
is good and the amplifier seems bettr than the one on my sb live.

However, when I connect output of my regular amplifier to the line-in of
the extigy, sound quality is poor. Not over-modulated or something like
that, the tone balance is completely different from the original. Treble
and bass are set to 50% (48).

to check if this is a line-in problem, or a problem with the extigy amp
that I didn't hear, I connected the output of my stereo set to the
line-in of my sb live
and typed:

ecasound -i alsahw,1 -o alsa

and listned to the result. Sound was OK.

So in my opinion something is wrong when a signal goes straight from
line-in to line-out on the extigy.

My question is: is this a problem with the extigy, or maybe an
initialization problem that can be solved?

Kind regards,

Henk.
