Recording from the card will work only if the sound output from the tuner has been connected to the audio input pin of the Bt87x chip. This isn't the case with most cards, so the driver doesn't load for cards it doesn't know. You can force it to load by using the load_all=1 parameter. Please tell us if you get any sound.
