Hi, I am running Alsa 1.0.10-3 (debian unstable) on debian linux-image(2.6.14-3). I am only getting front channel audio from the card. Everything looks ok in the /proc/asound/cards. The mobo has AC97 sound but it is disabled in the bios, the audigy is the only card in the /proc/asound/cards. I am running xmms to test.
I have followed the instructions from the usb-sound wiki but with no luck on the 4 channel sound: http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-doc/doc-php/template.php?company=Creative+Labs&card=Sound+Blaster+Audigy2+NX.&chip=CA0186%2C+EP7309&module=usb-audio I have also tried this to do 5.1 sound but with no luck. http://www.niemueller.de/wiki/index.php?SoundblasterAudigy2NXwithALSA It seems that making the changes to the .asoundrc and /etc/asound.conf didn't seem to have any effect? Do the .asoundrc and /etc/asound.conf work in debian? Do i need to reload alsa after changes to the files? What other things should i be trying?
