Hi! I am trying to get my Aureal Vortex soundcard to work, in a mandrake 9.2-installation. I downloaded the alsa source, and compiled the modules according to instructions (running kernel 2.4.22-10mdk). I do:
modprobe sound modprobe snd-pcm-oss modprobe snd-mixer-oss modprobe snd-au8810 and then there is a /dev/dsp (until then no such file). But I get no sound at all.
