Hello, I recently purchaed the Chaintech AV-710 sound card, which uses VIA's Envy24HT-S chip, to pass audio through the S/PDIF Digital Output (toslink) to an audio reciever. The card was (correctly) identified by alsa as using the snd_ice1724 driver. Analog output works fine, but I can't get it to produce any sound on the S/PDIF digital output jack.
The card and reciever are both OK, since it worked in a Windows machine. I am using alsa 1.0.3. I tried using alsamixer to enable IEC958, but that didn't seem to have an effect. Is the digital output supported on the Envy24HT-S? Is the HT-S supported differently from the HT? Any help would be much appreciated.
