Hi, I am having some problems getting Soundblaster cards working under ALSA under Linux 2.6.5. I've tried the ALSA code provided with 2.6.5, and also the latest drivers from the ALSA website. No difference.
First off, there's the SB Live! - this detects OK under lspci, and alsaconf recognises it correctly. The config files are then all generated and look ok. The /proc entries look fine, too, so the kernel is using ALSA ok. Problem is, no sound and (worse) the amixer and alsaplayer applications deny that there is a sound card present at all. I assume the no sound is that the volume is set to zero (the alsaconfig warns that this will happen), so how do I set the volume when the mixer won't acknowledge the soundcard? The second problem is with the Audigy LS. ALSA lists this as a (partially) supported card, but I can't get any ALSA application to detect it at all. Any ideas on how to coax ALSA to work with the Audigy LS? Thanks for any help you can give, Jonathan __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Win a $20,000 Career Makeover at Yahoo!
