I have been using the following set-up:

linux kernel: 2.4.23
alsa-lib: 1.0.3a
alsa-utils: 1.0.3
alsa-driver: 1.0.3

I have tried both the Terratec Aureon 7.1 Space and the M-Audio Revolution
7.1 soundcards (both use snd-ice1724) and when I try and use arecord it
crashes for me too.

Arecord seems to work fine when the sample rate is 48 kHz or above, but
anything below results in a re-boot after approx 2 seconds.

Kind regards,

David Brookes
