I have just acquired a Terratec Aureon 7.1 Space sound card and I've been seeing the same sorts of problems when trying to use arecord. The set-up I have is as follows: linux kernel: 2.4.23 alsa-lib: 1.0.3a alsa-utils: 1.0.3 alsa-driver: 1.0.3 I am using snd-ice1724 and I can successfully playback audio over all the output channels. However, I too find that my system crashes after approximately 2 seconds when I try to use arecord with a sample rate less than 48kHz. Does anyone know a solution to this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
