I have managed to run alsa 0.9.8 with snd-ice 1712.
I would like to use the second midi port from the ICH4 onboard audio from MSI 845E Max Inetl Chipset, but this enables only my terratec ewx 24/96, while the AC'97 with ICH4 does not send/receive any midi.
I tried to run alsaconf script, but it does not detect mpu-401 compatibile as windows does. It detects as a second card a legacy Probe legacy ISA (non PnP) chips. When I select the second one, I can choose between opl3sa2, cs4236, cs4232, cs4231, es18xx, es1688, sb16, sb8. No matter what I choose, after probing all legacy cards, the script says no legacy cards found.
Everything is setup correctly in bios, because both cards run together on windows and I can send midi using both ports.
However, when I start alsa-patch-bay I have as a third device: rawmidi 0 - TerraTec EWX24/96 MPU-401
Is it possible to run these 2 cards with one alsa driver?
What am I doing wrong?
