Hi everyone,

I am trying to get a pdaudiocf CF card with a MIC 2496, from
Core Sound, working on my x86 ( Dell c600 ) laptop. I'm running
a linux, redhat 9, kernel up to 2.4.25, and the very latest
version of alsa, ie

(blondie:fortin:asound) pwd
/proc/asound

(blondie:fortin:asound) cat version
Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.3rc2.
Compiled on Feb 25 2004 for kernel 2.4.25cf with versioned symbols.

(blondie:fortin:asound) lsmod

It looks like everything I need is there, and the card appears listed
in the /proc/asound directory, ie

Timers:

Mixers: NOT ENABLED IN CONFIG

As you might guess, cat /dev/audio yeilds 'cat: /dev/audio: No such device'.

I believe I followed the directions at

http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-doc/doc-php/template.php?company=Core+Sound&card=PDAudio-CF&chip=pdaudiocf&module=pdaudiocf

exactly.

So ... is Core Sound PDAudio-CF at 0x100, irq 3 the correct addr and
irq? And 'Audio devices: NOT ENABLED IN CONFIG'

Following hits I've seen online, when I

modprobe snd-mixer-oss
modprobe snd-seq-oss
modprobe snd-pcm-oss
modprobe snd-seq-dummy

Then

[EMAIL PROTECTED] modules]# cat /proc/asound/oss/sndstat
Sound Driver:3.8.1a-980706 (ALSA v1.0.3rc2 emulation code)
Kernel: Linux blondie 2.4.25cf #9 Wed Feb 25 13:39:45 EST 2004 i686

and

[EMAIL PROTECTED] modules]# cat /dev/audio
cat: /dev/audio: Input/output error

also

[EMAIL PROTECTED] modules]# cat /etc/modules.conf
# ALSA portion

At no time do either of the lights on the CF card come on. On the MIC,
I see a light if i toggle on the 48v power.

Can anyone give me a hand getting this to work?

Thanks alot,
  Chris
