I just installed ALSA using the Planet CCRMA package. The instillation went well but I'm having configuration problems. The most serious is an artsmessage error: "Sound server fatal error, CPU overload, Aborting." This message usually, but not always, appears whenever I log in using KDE. It doesn't appear the first time I log in after a reboot. It only appears if I log out and then back in without rebooting.
Fedora distribution Kernel 2.4.22-1.2140.nptl.caps.rhfc1.ccrma Sound Card ens-1371 /var/log/messages contains the following: Feb 25 01:46:22 CAGE alsasound: Starting sound driver snd-ens1371 succeeded Feb 25 01:46:22 CAGE alsasound: Starting sequencer succeeded Feb 25 01:46:22 CAGE alsasound: Starting sequencer driver snd-seq-midi succeeded Feb 25 01:47:13 CAGE modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module sound-slot-1 Feb 25 01:47:13 CAGE modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module sound-service-1-0 Feb 25 01:47:13 CAGE modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module sound-slot-1 Feb 25 01:47:13 CAGE modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module sound-service-1-0 Thanks. ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net is sponsored by: Speed Start Your Linux Apps Now.
