Hello

I am new to ALSA sound development using Linux and have been frustrated
over a problem I am having but cannot seem to solve regardless what I do!
Perhaps someone can help me out! Here are the specifics:

 Sound card: M-Audio Delta 1010LT
 SuSE Linux (8,2)

The device is installed etc. and detected by the system however, when
sending data to it (via an application I am writing) the data is written
fine (the device is opened successfully etc) but I do not hear anything!
I have read several FAQs and have examined to ensure the channels are not
Muted etc. Heres the problem however. Using the gui based mixel (alsa gui
mixer) I am able to unmute the channels and raise their level. However I
cannot raise the level of the "Multi Track Master). I can unmute the
master however, when i do, if i attempt to write any data to the sound
device, the program hangs. If i mute it again, then it will run properly,
write the data etc. but i hear not sound. I have alsa tried playing
several wave files etc. using a variety of applications but again, no
sound despite the fact that the data is being written.

Any suggestions to this problem would be greatly appreciated!

Thank You in advance!
