Two possibilities:
[1] This is the same problem that I've reported twice now with respect
to this card under Alsa---no errors or warnings but silence
delivered. For me, this problem can be `solved' by using rmmod to
unload all the relevant kernel-modules and then re-starting the
application (thereby causing the modules to be re-loaded).
[2] To record from line input using this card (the Turtle Beach Santa
Cruz, cs46xx driver), you have to set *all three* of:
LINE CAPTURE ADC
to Captur(e) (and also un-mute and set values appropriately of
course).
Alsamixer in fact shows two Capture channels for the card. Here at
least, the crucial one is the leftmost channel.
