cmedia chip - Audi Excel card AV515M 6 channel - witha daughter card for SPDIF.
I downloaded alsa - disabled the default cmpci driver. Compiled the driver - installed all the utilities.
So now i have the mixer working - there is sound on the SPDIF to my receiver - that is if I play a ogg file. As soon as I try the CD the sounds goes to Electrical port.
If u can send me some link to more information on working of SPDIF that will help too.
