Let me first double check my versions of ALSA on that machine.  If it
is 1.0.1 (up to date with Planet as I assumed) then I'll post it in the
bug-tracking system.

OK, perhaps it's done in software?  My windows mixer has a tab and
controls for this, mentioned here as part of thr driver release:

My asoundrc does things like send internal stereo playback to HW outs
1-2, 5-6, 7-8 simultaneously.  The first pair out goes to the monitors,
the second to an oscilloscope, and the third to a headphone mixer.  How
can I do this in envy24?

In other words, why is complex per-channel/per-group routing trivial in
alsa itself but limited to either-or toggling in envy24?
