Yes, there's an actual second connector labelled AUX_IN next to the usual CD_IN
connector.  IIRC, in Windows it did show up as an available mixer channel.  The
board also has a TAD (mono telephone) connector.  This was intended to allow
routing internal audio from something like a phone modem card for
speakerphone/answering machine features.

I suppose the question here is 'how does alsa find out what mixer channels are
available?'  It may well be that the search for mixer channels function just
isn't bothering to look for these additional inputs.  I'm certainly willing to
edit the necessary code if that's the case.
