Hi, I have a laptop with an internal CS4281 soundcard. It has been working well with OSS and 2.4.x kernels. I recently upgraded to 2.6.0 (as packaged in Debian testing), and the ALSA driver works equally well, except that there is no PC speaker output. With OSS I could adjust the volume of the beep with a mixer, but now there is no beep even though it is unmuted and at maximal volume.
I have tried both Emacs and rxvt; neither can emit a beep. What can I do to get it working?
