Hi,

I'm thinking of finally hooking my linux box with all
my Vorbis files to my stereo, so I'm researching my
options.

What is a well regarded soundcard, that works well
under ALSA, under $200.00 using S/P-DIF output, that
deals well with digitized audio in ogg and mp3 format
(I'm not doing midi here). If I need to pay more,
well maybe up to $300. I'm archiving my CDs, so if it
works well with directly grabbing 44.1khz, that's
great.

If it uses USB or USB2, I expect that would allow a
little more flexibility in setting up my system, but I
don't see a lot of traffic on the SB Audigy NX, so I'm
not optimistic.

Allan
