Howdy. I've read here that the M-Audio USB does not follow the USB
specification as far as the recording side of things is concerned. So far
all I have heard is fairly vague complaints - the little endian / big endian
issue (not convinced this against specification yet myself), asynchronous
endpoints during recording, etc.

First, where is a detailed specification available? I looked at the main USB
site but could not find a detailed specification anywhere, just very general
stuff.

Now as an owner of this USB device I would definitely like to avoid having to
boot into Windows just to record. So my question is, what is needed from
M-Audio for the hardworking ALSA coding grunts to support recording for this
device?

If you can give me a specific list of what is required I will do my damndest
to get the necessary specifications from M-Audio (direct via support,
feedback to industry mags like SOS, community sites like ampfea.org, etc.).

If there is anything else I can do to help get this implemented please let me
know.

Cheers!
