Greetings all; Kernel is 2.6.1-mm4, on what was once a redhat8.0 system. VIA chipset, 8233/A, all sound modules compiled into the kernel. I think this has been asked before, but I just built kde-3.2-rc. I note that audacity, while now apparently working thru the aRTS setup as opposed to the former OSS, now has staticy little clicks and pops in the playback. This worked quite well with kde-3.1.1a.
Clicking on the record buttoon in audacity gets me a bad hum, as if it had a bad cable, but AFAIK there isn't anything even plugged into the line in jack. I hadn't tried that for the older kde, I'm still learning about audacity, slowly. Also, the spec analyzer display in xmms-1.2.7, is several seconds ahead of the audio. I had to change the xmms config to use the aRTS as opposed to the OSS as an output module. Its audio is clean. Newer xmms's have dependency problems and won't install. Are there any "fixes this", things I can do? -- Cheers, Gene "There are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and ammo.
