Is there ANY way, in Red Hat 9, to simply enable Digital Output or do I need to download and install all this stuff? I installed the ALSA stuff within the CCRMA package and if I boot with that kernel, X Windows doesn't run. I installed the newest gcc I could find and the latest NVIDIA drivers a couple of days ago. At any rate, digital output is basically the ONLY thing keeping me from sound. Does anyone know if there's a way to enable it without all the downloading and installing?
