ALSA supports the AD1985 since 0.9.7. Support for reconfiguring the jacks has been added recently, but playing simple stereo data should work with your version, too. > Any chance of Linux 2.6.2 including Alsa 1.0.1? Maybe. You could simply disable ALSA in the kernel configuration and compile the alsa-driver-1.0.1 package seperately.
