Maybe your installation of ALSA is corrupted? The Revo works perfectly with a 2.4.22 kernel and ALSA 1.0.0rc2.

I'm using a 2.6.0 kernel with ALSA 1.0.0rc2. Would that cause a problem?

2) Check that ice1724_51 is defined in the output of:

# aplay -L

3) Play a 2 channel wav:

# aplay -v -Dice1724_51 2channel.wav

I still got sound through the front two channels only (though I did get some overruns).

I also noticed that if I turn the volume all the way up and hold the front two speakers up to my ears (while not playing anything, of course), I hear some white noise and a noticible hum. But if I hold the rear or center speaker up, I just hear white noise. I'm beginning to wonder if the card isn't defective. I know my speakers aren't defective because I've plugged all three into the front channel and they each work fine.
