Hello, I'm having troublke getting my OPLSAx soundcard to work using Alsa.
Here's the message from my /var/log/syslog when I try to start Alsa: Jan 2 20:34:20 Libretto kernel: ALSA /var/work/alsa-driver-1.0.0rc2/alsa-kernel/isa/opl3sa2.c:905: Yamaha OPL3-SA soundcard not found or device busy Jan 2 20:34:20 Libretto kernel: ALSA /var/work/alsa-driver-1.0.0rc2/alsa-kernel/drivers/mpu401/mpu401.c:76: specify port Jan 2 20:34:20 Libretto kernel: MPU-401 device not found or device busy I thought I specified the port successfully in my modules.conf, here's what I've got in there: alias char-major-116 snd alias char-major-14 soundcore options snd major=116 cards_limit=4 alias sound-service-0-0 snd-mixer-oss alias sound-service-0-1 snd-seq-oss alias sound-service-0-3 snd-pcm-oss alias sound-service-0-8 snd-seq-oss alias sound-service-0-12 snd-pcm-oss alias /dev/dsp* snd-pcm-oss alias snd-card-0 snd-opl3sa2 options snd-opl3sa2 dma1=1 dma2=0 fm_port=0x388 irq=5 isapnp=1 midi_port=0x330 port=0x538 sb_port=0x220 wss_port=0x530 alias snd-card-1 snd-mpu401 alias snd-slot-0 snd-card-0 alias sound-slot-0 snd-slot-0 alias snd-slot-1 snd-card-1 alias sound-slot-1 snd-slot-1 I've tried isapnp=0 and isapnp=1 but neither seems to make a difference. The computer is an old Toshiba Libretto 100CT and I believe this is an ISA sound card. I'm using 1.0.0rc2 If anyone can offer me any assistance, I'd be most appreciative. Thanks much, Patrick. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Find out what made the Top Yahoo!
