Hi,

I just configured and installed a new 2.6.0 kernel with only alsa sound
support (no oss emulation at all) and it's working great so far.
I'm running a Debian GNU/Linux and using a Creative SBLive!.

My problem is that I can't find a way to load any soundfont to the card.
As you can see, midi is configured:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ pmidi -l
 Port Client name Port name
 64:0 Rawmidi 0 - EMU10K1 MPU-401 (U EMU10K1 MPU-401 (UART)
 65:0 Emu10k1 WaveTable Emu10k1 Port 0
 65:1 Emu10k1 WaveTable Emu10k1 Port 1
 65:2 Emu10k1 WaveTable Emu10k1 Port 2
 65:3 Emu10k1 WaveTable Emu10k1 Port 3

I can play any midi file but can't hear anything as I don't have any
soundfont loaded yet:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ pmidi -p 65:0 test.mid (returns no error and run
silently)

The problem I have is that I can't find a way to load any soundfont to
get any sound:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/src/awesfx-0.4.4$ ./sfxload 8mbgmsfx.sf2
/dev/sequencer: No such device

I think sfxload can't work because it needs some oss-emulated sequencer
(just a deduction, no clue if I'm right). I tried every sequencer/midi
device I found in /dev without success.

So my question is: how to load a soundfont on a wavetable with only a
pure alsa sound system ? (without OSS)

Thanks for the help =)
