I don't know this soundfont but for reproduce standart midi files .. maybe you 
need a General Midi soundfont. 

You can find in  http://www.hammersound.net/
then  use pmidi -p 65:0  'midifile'

Where 65:0 is a wavetable port.

The label in alsamixer for this wavetable synth is 'Music'
and maybe the volume is less than the PCM ones ... personally i use
sfxload 'soundfont' without volume parameters.
