Here is more information on my problem. It seems that alsa only sees two primary channels for this device. Yet, when the card's information is accessed, it shows eight channels of input (it works with my external adat hardware). Notice below in the list of pcm channels, there is only pcm0c and pcm1c for capture....should there not be 8 of these total or does the card use some other method of accessing all eight channels?
Thanks much, James [EMAIL PROTECTED] hayesjaj]# cat /proc/asound/card1/ id pcm0c pcm0p pcm1c pcm1p rme96 [EMAIL PROTECTED] hayesjaj]# cat /proc/asound/card1/rme96 RME Digi96/8 PAD at 0xf0000000, irq 9 (index #2) General settings period size: 8192 bytes Input settings input: optical (8 channels) sample rate: 44100 Hz sample format: 16 bit Output settings output signal: normal playback sample rate: 44100 Hz sample format: 16 bit sample clock source: internal format: IEC958 (consumer) emphasis: off non-audio (dolby): off Analog output settings monitored ADAT tracks: 1+2 attenuation: 0 dB volume left: 0 volume right: 0 ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: SF.net Giveback Program.
