[Alsa-user] ezusbmidi hotplug not working at boot

I am using a Midiman 1x1 usb midi interface.  Using the information on the 
alsa website I have gotten this unit to work.  The problem is that it 
doesn't work until either I unplug and replug the usb cable or do a warm 
boot.  I am using Mandrake 9.2 installed on a VIA EPIA motherboard.  It 
looks like the device is not detected at boot, the midi-usb module is not 
listed by lsmod.  It is after replugging.  Any ideas what to look for?  Thanks.
