I'm using slackware 9.1+gcc 3.2.3. Everything worked fine until I upgraded to the 1.0pre1, but the problems remained with pre3 and rc1. There is no trace of previous versions that I can find. In the case of alsaplayer, it identifies alsa as 0.5x, even though that has never even been on this system. Has there been some API change, or is this a configuration issue? I don't see anyone else having this problem, so I would assume configuration. ALthough I have never had any problem like this before and always update to the latest version of ALSA as soon as I can.
