Hi all, Ok, alsa drivers loaded fine. For example xmms works great.
But my microphone is not working. Here's what I got: Motherboard: P4P8X intel(on board sound). lspci shows the following: 00:1f.5 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corp. 82801EB AC'97 Audio (rev 02) lsmod shows all drivers loaded. I'm running redhat9.0, 2.4.20-8, alsa-driver-0.9.8. alasamixer shows everything up. Although "mic boost" is unmuted but I'm not able to adjust it through alasamixer. As well it gives me the choice of two mic's. Through gnome-volume-control mic is sset high. I have tried, arecord -f dat -d 20 -D hw:0,0 test.wav aplay -f dat test.wav This will give me nothing. Just noise. I have tried: dd bs=8k count=10 < /dev/dsp > sample.au cat sample.au > /dev/dsp This gives me noise. I know my mic works, it works great under windows on the same machine. Any help would be appreciated. thanks jerry -- ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: SF.net Giveback Program.
