no, it's for the AC97 PCM layer we changed recently. (this new layer is used only by intel8x0 driver, so far.) the semaphore problem is not solved. i don't know exactly what's wrong. this seems pretty specific to the device, since it doesn't appear to other machines. possibly it's related with ACPI, too.
