So has anyone actually gotten the Echo Audio driver to work? I'm an experienced Unix user, but hadn't installed linux anywhere until this weekend. I downloaded and built the 1.0-pre Alsa and downloaded the Echo Audio stuff and tried to follow his installation instructions, but got no joy. It looks like I have no alsa sound devices installed.
I sure think that packaging and installation of Alsa should be streamlined.
