[Alsa-user] cirrus logic cs4281 no sound

help, i resently install slackware 9.1 on my toshiba satellite 1715XCDS 
laptop.  every thing works great except i cannot get any sound coming 
out of the speakers or headphones.  I know alsa is installed because i 
saw it on the install screen on slake.

I see these messages when i boot up slack:

Loading ALSA mixer seetins: /usr/sbin/alsactl restore
Loading OSS Compatibility modules for ALSA
this is what i tried so far, from console:

modprobe soundcore, no error messages
modprobe snd-cs4281, no error messages
alsamixer, it opens and i turn up the volume on everything & i also turn 
on everything with the ">"

alsamixer say i have this on the top of the screen:

Card: Cirrus Logic CS4281
Chip: Cirrus Logic CS4297A rev4
i have been searching the web for a few days now and this is my last 
hope to get the card work.  if you can help me it would be greatly 
appreciated.
