Hi all,
I try to fine tune my debian installation on my 1ghz/g4 (tower) and I
want Alsa driver to make sound work under MOL.

The debian package alsa-source didn't compile with make-kpkg, I don't
have the log here but it hangs on some PDE stuff.

Then I try CVS and it compile and install well. Now I want to insert
snd-powermac and :

c# insmod snd-powermac
Using /lib/modules/2.4.23-pre5-ben0/kernel/sound/ppc/snd-powermac.o
/lib/modules/2.4.23-pre5-ben0/kernel/sound/ppc/snd-powermac.o:
init_module: No such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters,
including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg

In syslog I find :

kernel: ALSA pmac.c:1104: pmac: can't request resource 0!
kernel: no PMac soundchip found

Someone on irc suggest that My g4 doesn't use this chip, but I can't
find what sound chip I have on it !!

Let's see in apple's website :
http://www.apple.com/hardware/powermacg4/specs.html

nothing...

Sound works in linux.
I can't have the head speaker works.

In dmesg :
...
Audio jack unplugged, enabling speakers.
AE-Init snapper mixer
PowerMac Snapper DMA sound driver rev 016 installed
Core driver edition 01.06 : PowerMac Built-in Sound driver edition 00.07
Write will use 4 fragments of 32768 bytes as default
...

If someone can help me it will be appreciate.

thanks
