For over a year I have had this problem where sometimes audio apps will take 1-2 minutes to do anything. It happens for example in XMMS where usually it will play fine, but sometimes it will open up and then do nothing for 1-2 min then start playing like there is no problem. Stopping and restarting XMMS is no help. The problem seems to go away on it's own after a few hours. This happens with other audio apps too. I suspect that ALSA is somehow getting messed up. Any ideas?
