Well, after more reading I have found another alternative, which might be the one most ontopic for this mailinglist =). "dmix" seems to be something that can mix streams in software, what I have read is that it only works on alsa applications, or by using aoss. Ok, the question is of course, how does it compare to the other options I provided in my last post, especially latency wise, but CPU load is of course a issue too....also i would be interested to know if the additional "aoss" layer does any greater harm to cpu usage or latency. Come to think of it there are so many ways of doing this, and for me it looks like they are all basicly the same thing (except jack maybe, which seems to be special)....where are the differences between arts, esd, dmix etc. Peter - -- You are only young once, but you can stay immature indefinitely. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.3 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE/swDng2ieGvTmHiURArz3AJoDGZJH5KCiR/SB5n5DHTHtXnGowgCeOMoF rLFo980PUA8XMyZ5Zqui8yk= =pMlr -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email sponsored by: ApacheCon 2003, 16-19 November in Las Vegas.
