I seem to stuck into a black hole. Is there any way to _remove everything_ and then reinstall again? [a kind of Format & Reinstall for sound]
The weird thing: sound never worked with my hardware and distro. A week ago, I downloaded a lot of modules, patches, rpms, etc and kept installing everything to try to make it work. Somehow, it worked, but only for user root. The next day, I did something else, and it worked for all users. Then, my 3-year-old son rebooted [in the proper way, by clicking in the "Restart" button, waiting for the dual boot, etc] the computer to play a Windoze game, and when I returned to Linux, _nothing worked_. And there's no way to make it work again. BTW, sndconfig reports some errors in the via82cxxx_audio, like /lib/modules/2.4.21-28872cl/kernel/drivers/sound/via82cxxx_audio.o: init_module: No such device â Alberto Monteiro ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email sponsored by: ApacheCon 2003, 16-19 November in Las Vegas.
