I can get only mono audio from line in. Motherboard is ASUS A7V8X-MX and it has a VT8235 / AD1980 chipset.
I compile via82xx with sequencer and when I try to get sound from line in (or from mic) I get only mono audio. I am sure about the stereo source because if I unmute the line in, I get stereo output from the line out. If I use the aux input of via8235 from the same source (a video card), I get stereo signal. The only weird thing is this error during module load.
