Well, sorry I didn't mention it in the previous post - I checked include/config.h.in first, before I checked generated include/config.h, and no, it didn't have CONFIG_HAVE_PDE defined either. That's a strange thing indeed: I downloaded just a regular daily CVS snapshot from the web site, and somehow it's not a correct version? Where are the correct versions then? I would be very much like to get alsa installed and move on. Another question, is it an ALSA problem, or kernel problem? There was new kernel released yesterday, 2.4.22-pre7, I was wondering whether if I install it it would be of any help...
