I'm using ALSA 0.9.6 with VLC (on RedHat 9) to play back VideoCDs. Everything works fine but audio is not perfect, it seems losing some bits every few seconds (i.e. you don't ear anything for a very small fraction of time).
Using 'vlc -vvv dvd:/dev/cdrom' I see that when the audio disappear there is a message 'recovered from buffer underrun' and immediately after that several 'PTS is out of range'.
Do I need to change some buffer size and how?
