Actually, I'd like to liven this thread up a bit. I am not using arts, nor do I intend to and I have a via 8223 built in card (I also have a M-Audio Delta 1010 and it's working great, big ups to the ALSA programmers).
But the via card isn't working well at all. I've tried setting the dxs_support options to 2 and 3, still I get static. I've also noticed that not only do I get static, but the sample rate of the card is 48khz because the singers sound like chipmunks in all my music at 44.1. I can live with the static, but any advice on how to force the sample rate on the card to 44.1 or do resampling on the ALSA level? -l[e^2] ------------------------------ http://www.fallingforward.net/ people experimenting with music, art and technology On Wed, 17 Sep 2003, Nick Peaden wrote: > I know this thread is dead, but for my problem, later I removed arts and then > install 2.6.0-test5 compiled with the ALSA drivers, and slightly modded my .asoundrc > to make this work without any distortion/static/white noice/weird anything. > > On Sun, 14 Sep 2003 12:00:23 -0400 > Nick Peaden <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > Ok, I have it fixed, I have to run arts on top of alsa to even get rid of all teh > > static! > > > > On Sat, 13 Sep 2003 21:02:49 -0400 > > Nick Peaden <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > > > In XMMS, it shows 2 devices with the ALSA output plugin.
