allright - I did so (installed driver, lib and utils 0.9.6) but got this :

[EMAIL PROTECTED] root]# modprobe snd-intel8x0
/lib/modules/2.4.20-20.9/kernel/sound/acore/snd.o: unresolved symbol
schedule_work
/lib/modules/2.4.20-20.9/kernel/sound/acore/snd.o: insmod
/lib/modules/2.4.20-20.9/kernel/sound/acore/snd.o failed
/lib/modules/2.4.20-20.9/kernel/sound/acore/snd.o: insmod snd-intel8x0
failed
[EMAIL PROTECTED] root]#

Also I have to add that the original driver for RedHat 9 for OSS also fails.
It is installed but when playing the testound the machine totally crashes.

Any idea what could be wrong ?

Thanks
